Patchouli oil is an essential oil extracted from the plant genus Pogostemon. It is obtained by the process of steam distillation of patchouli leaves and white coloured flowers of the plant. This oil is very effective for healing wounds and scars. And so it is widely used in medicines made in Asian countries. It is also used in adding fragrances to fibres, room fresheners, detergents, personal care products, etc.
