4 Ways To Use Cilantro For Your Skincare

Cilantro is the second name of coriander. A few sprinkles of cilantro leaves are just enough to live up the taste and flavour of the dish. But you will be surprised to know that the uses of this herb are not limited to garnishing and flavouring. The anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of cilantro make it perfect for skincare regime. It is also high in vitamin C and antioxidants which fights free radicals. It also helps in preventing oil produced by the skin. It is at the same time excellent in treating blackheads and reviving aging skin. So, here, we talk about some of the remedies other than recipes.

1. Restrict oil production- cilantro acts as oil controller. Apply coriander juice directly to the face to control excess oil. If you want tomix little milk to the juice to make it a thick paste and apply. Leave it for 15 minutes and rinse off with fresh water. Apply natural moisturizer then. Being rich in antioxidants and vitamin C gives smooth and soft skin.

Make a smooth paste of all the ingredients and apply evenly to your face. Allow it dry. Then rinse your face with Luke warm water. For good results, you need to use this face pack regularly. 3. Fights acne- it safely eradicates acne by controlling oil production. It also removes deep-seated dirt and impurities. In addition being anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory it fights acne-bacteria and soothes the inflamed area of your skin. It not only reduces acne but reduces the future possibility of acne production. Take handful of fresh cilantro, lemongrass and chamomile. Put all the ingredients in a bowl filled with boiled water. Allow it to rest for 1 hour. Then blend the mixture to make it fine paste and apply to your face. Wait for 20 minutes then rinse off with fresh water.

4. As rejuvenator- the most sought ingredient is the Vitamin C when it comes to skin rejuvenation. Antioxidants and vitamin c can disrupt the collagen production which causes inflammation. For aged and tired skin cilantro-rice face mask is the best solution. Take a finely chopped 2-3 sprigs of cilantro, 2 tablespoons yogurt, 1 tablespoon fresh coconut milk and rice powder, 2 tablespoon Aloe Vera gel, and any cosmetic clay of your choice. Make a smooth paste of all the ingredients by mixing them. Apply uniformly to all over face and neck. Wait for 15 minutes till the mask is semi-dry. Then wash with Luke warm water.
